The Assyrian – Chaldean Catholic Mission in Georgia was established in May 1995 with the support of the Apostolic Nuncio to Georgia, H.E. Archbishop Jean – Paul Gobel, in accordance with His Holiness, the Chaldean Patriarch of Babylon, Mar Raphael I Bidawid, H.E. Mar Ibrahim N. Ibrahim, Bishop emeritus of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Diocese of the United States of America and the Pastor of the Assyrian – Chaldean Catholic Mission in Georgia, Reverend Benny Beth Yadgar. The Mission’s aim is to support and revive the ancient Christian traditions of the faithful whom after the collapse of the Soviet Union underwent countless struggles. The Mission serves as a center that brings together members of the Assyrian and Chaldean nations living in Georgia. It supports its members by offering a space for Holy Liturgy and community gatherings. The Mission is actively engaged in assisting those in need and in the building of a more hopeful world.
