Charitable Foundation Caritas Georgia was officially founded on November 3, 1994, by the Catholic Church, dedicated to the service of the poor in Georgia and to the promotion of charity and justice.
The mission of Caritas Georgia is to promote human development and social justice, bring relief to vulnerable and disadvantaged people in accordance with Christian values, encouraging their self-responsibility and dignity.
From the outset, Caritas Georgia has implemented many projects to help the most deprived people, who live beyond the poverty line. Those, who are lonely elderly, children without parental care, street-connected children, sick and disabled people, everyone who is socially unprotected regardless of their nationality, sex and religion.
Aspiration for attaining the objectives is most clearly manifested by the projects implemented by Caritas Georgia in the following programs:
In December 1998, Caritas Georgia became a member of the worldwide network of the Confederation Caritas Internationalis and Caritas Europa.
